Mayor's Fun Run

Sydney never ceases to surprise me! She is a lot like me in the fact that she wants to do, or at least try everything. So when the 4th grade mile run with the Mayor came up, she was begging me to let her do it. I was nervous at first because she has asthma( also takes after me in that way) and she has never done a run like this before. It was downtown and included running over a bridge...one that people have fallen off of before and drowned. But, I never want to be a mother who discourages her children, so despite my own fears, I let her sign up. She had a few friends from her school sign up and we came to find out that friends from other schools were there too. She ran the mile in 10 min 23 seconds. I was very proud of her!
